Daniel J. Esch, Managing Director
Daniel J. Esch has over 25 years of experience in retirement plans and has provided consulting and fiduciary advisory services to over 300 major corporations in the areas of plan design, investment consulting, record keeping administration and employee communications. He has extensive experience in the management and operation of retirement plans including advising and assisting plan fiduciaries in their fiduciary responsibilities involving qualified plan issues.
Dan serves as Managing Director of Defined Contribution Advisors, Inc. Prior to founding the firm, Dan was Vice President and a member of the Board of Directors for Wyatt Asset Services, Inc. He was also a member of Wyatt's National Defined Contribution Practice Committee and a key contributor to a number of strategic initiatives for the firm.
Dan is frequently quoted in industry publications, including Institutional Investor, Pensions & Investments, and PlanSponsor magazine. He has authored various articles and lectures extensively on a national basis. Dan was most recently nominated by industry peers for 401(k) Wire's 2007, 2008 and 2009 Fifty Most Influential within the 401(k) industry.

Brian G. Carrington, CFA, Chief Investment Officer
Brian G. Carrington, CFA has over 20 years of experience with investment management companies, 9 years with DC Advisors.
As the head of our investment consulting practice, Brian oversees the quantitative and fundamental investment research produced by DC Advisors. He has worked extensively with a broad base of plan sponsors to enhance investment knowledge required to effectively manage complex retirement plans.
Prior to joining DC Advisors, Brian was a portfolio manager / analyst with Piper Trust Company. In this position, Brian was responsible for developing investment strategies, recommending specific investments, and providing all related investment services for high net worth individuals and charitable foundations. Brian’s background with Piper Jaffray also included work on the formation of an international investment advisory firm. Prior to serving with Piper Jaffray, he worked for EBF & Associates, a global arbitrage hedge fund manager.
Brian has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance and Accounting from Bethel University, St. Paul, Minnesota. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and member of the Association for Investment Management and Research, and the Twin Cities Society of Securities Analysts. Brian is also a graduate of the American Bankers Association National Trust School.
