Investment Policy Statement
The Investment Policy Statement (IPS) is the key document for monitoring the performance of the plan’s investments. It provides fiduciaries guidelines to assist in both the selection and monitoring process. Even though an investment policy statement is not required by law, one of the first items plan sponsors are asked to produce in DOL audits is an IPS.
